"I don’t think there is enough rider demand to warrant it"

"I attended a public meeting held by Metrolinx a few years back - When my daugher who lives in the Junction asked what Metrolinx was doing to help her commute, she was greeted by a blank stare - She lives and works in areas of the city devoid of good transit options - She has a fair walk at each end of her 16km multi-transfer commute regardless which public transit options she chooses - Her quickest option prior to Covid was to pack her 2 1/2 year old and bike it

The Ontario Line and all of Metrolinx's other plans for transit over the next 10 to 15 years do nothing to change this - The future GO station at St. Clair-Old Weston will shave a few minutes, but she still has to backtrack when she gets to Union Station - The one improvement that might have made a difference if it were included as a stop on the Kitchener GO Line (which it is not) is the Spadina GO Station

Transit measured by operation at capacity is not good transit - This city is growing at a rapid pace; the city's current needs, let alone it's future needs, are still not being met"
